El Camino College to Celebrate Black History Month

El Camino College will offer a variety of free events throughout the month of February in celebration of Black History Month.

The festivities begin with an African-American lecture and art display featuring guest speaker and artist Fulton Leroy Washington from noon-2 p.m. Feb. 15 in the East Dining Room. A Black History Month Movie Night follows, scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 20 in Distance Education Room 166. A “Black Excellence Networking Dinner” is next, where students will hear from a panel of black and African-American leaders, 4-7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Student Activities Center, East Lounge. Black History Month concludes with a “Taste of Soul,” noon-2 p.m., Feb. 27 in the Student Activities Center, East Lounge, featuring soul food and entertainment from the UC Riverside Nigerian Dance Association and more!

El Camino College Black History Month events are sponsored by the Black History Month Planning Committee, Office of Staff and Student Diversity, Student Development Office, Student Equity Advisory Council, and the Student Equity Program.
