CHILD DEVELOPMENT CAREERS (CDC) WORKs PROGRAM
(Formerly known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - TANF)
The Program:
The Child Development Careers (CDC) WORKs Program offers an
opportunity of a life-long career path as an early childhood
educator. Through an integrated training program of classes
and work experience, participants are prepared to become an
associate teacher or a teacher through the California Child
Development Permit process. Students will participate in
specially designed activities to achieve educational goals and job
skills that may include:
- monthly support groups
- workshops
- job interviews
- work experience
- cohort meetings
Requirements:
El Camino College students who have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the early care and education field and are currently receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) are eligible.
