 ABOUT US

El Camino College and the Los Angeles Unified School District GEARUP Program has partnered to offer El Camino College students the opportunity to work as tutors in one of four middle schools in the city of Carson.

To qualify, students must be enrolled in at least six units at El Camino College and undergo fingerprint screening prior to being placed in the classroom.  Students must also have a sincere interest in working with middle school children, a willingness to participate in paid training activities, and a strong commitment to serving as a positive role model.

BENEFITS

$11.00 per hour
Paid training
Flexible hours (up to 20 hours per week or 30 hours with a 3.0 GPA)
Hands-on experience in the classroom
An on-site coordinator to assist you
The opportunity to positively influence the lives of children
