THE FRANK FOWLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility:

ECC student
Completion of 6 units of real estate classes at ECC
Declared major: Real Estate or Appraisal or Mortgage Brokerage
Part-time or full-time student
Minimum 2.2 GPA for all non-RE course work;
3.0 GPA in RE courses
Completion of Scholarship Application
Submission of a letter requesting the funds, outlining proposed use, and stating career goals.
Citizenship not required, with proof of legal presence.

Award:

$300 maximum for each scholarship

The ECC Real Estate Scholarship screening committee will process the scholarship applicants according to the following guidelines:

  1. A maximum of $300 per year may be awarded per student.
  2. The award is intended to contribute toward the cost of real estate education expenses for fees, books, supplies and materials.
  3. The Financial Aid Director or Scholarship Coordinator will determine if the applicant meets the minimum eligibility criteria before submission to the selection committee.
  4. Only one award per student may ever be given.

The Frank Fowler Memorial Real Estate Department Scholarship winners:

  • 1994 $200 each: Monica DeVesa, Bank Finance; Amir Nilipour, Real Estate Investor; John Raimundo, Finance; Natalie Henderson, Second Trust Deeds; Michelle Myers, Property Management.

  • 1995 $200 each: Normal Cano, PNC Mortgage; Henry Cwieka, Appraiser & Mortgage Loan Broker; James Duncan, Construction.

  • 1997 $200 each: Kay Fortier, Residential Sales; Roy Gemser, Loan Agent.

  • 1998 $200 each: Jodi Dewhurst, Residential Sales; Gordon Ficke, Appraiser.

  • 1999 $200 each: Sandra Santillan, Residential Sales; Michelle Mera, Residential; Marisol Alarcon, Residential Sales.

  • 2000 $200 each: Robert O'Donnell, Appraiser; See See Law, Residential Sales; Christopher Lee, Finance and Loans.

  • 2001 $300 each: Michelle Myers, Property Management; Cindy Fish, Residential Sales; Lorraine Hendricks-Stewart, Investor.

  • 2002 $300 each: Cesar Huaman, investor; Robert Abelson, appraiser; Sandra Saldana, property management/accounting.

  • 2003 $300 each: Judith Hicks, residential sales.
