Minimum Qualifications:

El Camino College Real Estate Department faculty must have the following required qualifications: --Bachelor's degree in Business AND

  • California Department of Real Estate (DRE) Broker's license OR
  • California Office of Real Estate Appraisal (OREA) Certified General Appraisal license
  • AND a minimum of six (6) year's practice in real estate, lending, appraisal, property management or escrow OR the equivalent.
  • Valid California Community College instructor credential in subject area.
  • Teaching experience and real estate computer software experience preferred.

Qualifications for academic rank are based on these requirements:


Lecturer:
All part time and temporary faculty.

Instructor: Probationary (contract) faculty members.

Assistant Professor: Faculty members who have achieved regular faculty status or tenure.

Associate: Tenured faculty members at least at step 10 ( class V ) on the salary schedule or step 13 ( class I-IV ) on the salary schedule.

Professor Emeritus: Any living individual who has legally retired from El Camino College with Professorial rank.
