CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE Sales Applicant Requirement:Education:
1) Complete a three-semester unit college-level course in Real Estate Principles (RE11) prior to licensing;
2) Complete the three-unit college-level semester course in Real Estate Practice (RE13) prior to or within 18 months of original salesperson license.
3) Complete one three-unit college-level semester course in one of the following prior to or within 18 months of the issuance of the original salesperson license (conditional license):

Please note that "Advanced" courses do NOT Count towards the salesperson education and only count for the Broker license.
In addition, the following requirements must be met:
- Age: Be at least 18 years old to obtain license
- Experience: None required
- Pay Licensing fee
- License: Pass the State Exam with 70% or more on 150 questions
- Must have livescan fingerprint card completed for background check
- Activation: License must be activated within one year from date of examination
