AfterCollege is giving away a free NCLEX ® Reviewthis month to one of your nursing students. This NCLEX Review is provided by Hurst Review Services.Students are automatically entered in this drawing by signing up for an AfterCollege account before November 21, 2008.
Signing up will also allow students to access the Nursing Job Resource Center which AfterCollege powers for your nursing program.

Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship
Fran Broc, Scholarship Chairman of the El Redondo Chapter of NSDAR, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D.C. forwarded information about the organization’s scholarships. Each year scholarships are awarded to college students enrolled in programs to prepare them for a career in nursing. A letter of sponsorship from a local chapter is necessary for the application process. The Redondo Beach chapter deadline for receiving a request with the application packet ready to mail is January 5th, 2009. Specific information about the application process and the available scholarships is found on the links. Students are invited to email Fran Broc of the local chapter if they have questions regarding these scholarships at scholarship.el.redondo.dar@gmail.com . The application packets may be mailed to the chapter address below for the request of letter of sponsorship.

Rotary Club of Westchester is offering 2 Nursing Scholarships in a Four-Way Test Essay Contest. Each winners receives $500.00 each.
TOPIC: Answer the 4 questions of the Rotary 4 way test and how they apply to your choice to become a NURSE.
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Deadline for submission is December 1, 2008. The completed application package must be turned into the ECC Nursing Office in a sealed envelope by 12 noon on December 1, 2008. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, Faculty letter of recommendation from 2 ECC faculty members and Community Service.
