I am a diploma graduate, do I qualify for Advanced

Diploma graduates are not considered as advanced placement
applicants since they already hold an RN license. However,
California Community Colleges have a policy of evaluating
transcripts of applicants who have completed a diploma nursing
program. A total of 34 units in nursing from ECC may be granted to
the diploma graduate toward an AS Degree once they meet the
following criteria:
- Hold a valid California RN license
- Earn 12 college units in residence at ECC recommended from Area
A-E of the General Education Requirements.
- File a petition with the Nursing office requesting the granting
of units toward an AS degree.
- Refer to the page on licensure for information on individuals
who have been convicted of a crime and the effect this may have on
licensure.
