RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY
A.S. Degree and Certificates of Completion
The radiologic technology (medical x-ray) program is a competency-based health science specialty. The program provides a specialized educational experience which assesses progress through clinical application evaluations and academic course work. Successful completion of the program (degree and certificate) prepares students for employment as skilled medical imaging practitioners and makes them eligible for state and national certification examinations. Program assessment is conducted by monitoring student success rates on the State and National Certification Examinations.
Note: Applications accepted after 3 prerequisites are met - Anatomy (4 units), Physiology (4 units), RTEC A - Introduction to Radiologic Technology (3 units). Contact the program Director upon completion of the prerequisites courses to make an appointment to begin the application process.
Estimated Average Annual Earnings in California: $50,000 - $65,000
How to get started:

Download the "course evaluation" form on the left.
This form lists the 3 prerequisite classes required to submit an application for the program and the remaining classes that are needed to be completed to enter into the program. This form can be used as your academic plan to enter the radiology program and evaluate any college courses you may have already completed towards an A.S or higher degree.
-
Make an appointment with a college counselor* to evaluate any previous college course work
The ECC counselors can check your previous course work for articulation with the ECC A.S. degree requirements. Take the R.T. course evaluation form with you to the appointment with the counselor. If your college courses were taken at another college, you should have them evaluated by a college counselor before meeting with the Radiologic Technology Program Director for an application to the RT Program.
