ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY

Associate in Science and Certificates of Achievement


The environmental technology curriculum provides training in environmental hazardous materials handling and regulatory compliance consistent with requirements found in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). By completing the certificate or degree requirements, students gain proficiency in pollution prevention, regulatory agency requirements, health effects of hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, safety and emergency response, and occupational safety and health. Emphasis is placed on preparing the students for employment as environmental technicians within several industrial areas including electroplating, metal finishing, printed circuit board production, oil refining and chemical production, steel production, general manufacturing, printing and graphic reproduction, agriculture processes, and consumer services industry. Competencies will be assessed regularly by student performance in the classroom and laboratory.
