The Division of Mathematical Sciences offers instruction to students in mathematics, engineering, and computer science. Mathematics courses include basic skills development, general education for students seeking university transfer, and specialized courses for future teachers. Full two-year programs for mathematics, computer science, and engineering majors are offered. The computer science program includes language courses in Java, C++, and C#. The division faculty is proud of its distinguished reputation for rigorous preparation for future scholars, scientists, engineers, and others who will employ mathematics.
The division is dedicated to promoting student success at all levels. The Mathematics Study Center and the Math-Science Multimedia Computer Lab provide places for group study, one-to-one tutoring, and computer-assisted learning on a drop-in basis. Many mathematics courses provide students the opportunity to use computational technology, such as graphing calculators, Mathematica, and MINITAB.
