Biology of Plants

Vascular plant anatomy, physiology, and ecology are studied with an emphasis on plants that have an impact on people. Lab work includes a survey of algae, fungi, and all representative plant groups.

Introduction to angiosperm morphology and survey of native plants from representative Southern California families, with an emphasis on local flora. Includes use of identification keys and manuals, and preparation of an herbarium.
