Richard Slocum

Dr. Richard W. Slocum

B.S. and PhD. in Physics from MIT. Adjunct Professor of Physics with years of experience in physics, aerospace, petroleum, maritime operations, and the Arctic. Loves teaching, physics, flying, motorcycling, jogging, hiking, sailing, skiing, horseback riding, carpentry, yard work, kids, and students of all ages. Expects everyone to work hard.

 
Susan Stolovy

Dr. Susan Stolovy

Dr. Susan Stolovy has a Ph.D. and M.S. in physics from Cornell University and a B.A. in physics from The Johns Hopkins University. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Arizona and Caltech, and was a staff scientist for the Spitzer Science Center at Caltech for 10 years. She has observed with telescopes all over the world and in space (including the Spitzer and Hubble Space telescopes), and her research publications include studies of comets, star formation, the Galactic Center, and nearby galaxies.

Susan has been active in designing and running educational outreach activities in astronomy and physics for many years. She also enjoys chasing solar eclipses around the world, playing the violin, and spending time with her family.
