PHOTOS OF 2001
SPRING 2001, PHYSICS 1B LAB ON HEAT TRANSFERThe lab photographed involves the use of the TI-83 calculator and CBL system for data gathering. The data is then exported to a spread-sheet program (EXCEL) in which the data are organized, charted, and analyzed in an effort to answer a number of questions posed in the lab experiment. Among the questions is:
Suppose you pour hot coffee for your guests, and one of them chooses to drink the coffee after it has been in the cup for several minutes. Let us further suppose this person prefers coffee with cream added. Now, in order to have the warmest coffee when it is consumed, would you, as an El Camino College Physics Student, advise the cream be added just after the coffee is poured, or just before drinking? Or does it make any difference when the cream is added?

Below are the final survivors of Mr. L's 1B Day and Evening classes respectively. Congratulations!

And here is Miyoko, June 2005, a proud graduate from UCSB school of engineering. Thank you, and congratulations.
