CHILD DEVELOPMENT TRAINING CONSORTIUM
This program was created to address the critical shortage of qualified preschool teachers in the state of California and help students in several ways.
1. The Consortium pays the Child Development Permit fee of $135 for the following: Assistant Teacher (initial only) Associate Teacher (initial and renewal) Teacher (initial only) Master Teacher (initial only Site Supervisor (initial only)
2. The Consortium reimburses students for up to $56 of their LiveScan (fingerprinting and background check) costs.
3. The Consortium also reimburses those students who are working toward a Child Development Permit for some of the fees for designated courses ( i.e. the required Child Development and general education courses.) Applications for tuition reimbursement are usually available during the first week of the semester and checks are distributed during the final week of each semester. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. Applications must be complete to be processed.
