STEPS TO BECOMING A PRESCHOOL TEACHER 

1. Make an appointment to see our Teacher Education Program/Childhood Education Program Counselor (310. 660.3573) to develop your long term education plan.

2. Complete the required coursework for the AA degree, The Child Development Permit and/or the Childhood Education Certificate specified on your education plan.

3. Complete your experience requirements (Child Development Permit Only).

4. Complete your application for the permit, Certificate, and or A.A. Degree. (Child Development Permit applications can be obtained from the TEP/Child Development Counselor or from any Childhood Education Instructor, and certificate and degree applications can be obtained from the Admissions office.

5. Complete the LiveScan (fingerprint screening) CD Permits only.

6. Submit completed paperwork to the appropriate office.
