STEPS TO BECOMING A PRESCHOOL TEACHER 

1. Make an appointment to see our Teacher Education Program/Childhood Education Program Counselor (310. 660.3593 - Ext. 3573) to develop your long term education plan.

2. Complete the required coursework for the AA degree, the Child Development Permit and/or the Childhood Education Certificate specified on your education plan.

3. Complete your experience requirements (Child Development Permit Only).

4. Complete your application for the permit, certificate, and/or A.A. degree. (Child Development Permit applications can be obtained from ARTB 320, and certificate and degree applications can be obtained from the Admissions office.

5. Complete the LiveScan (fingerprint screening): CD Permits only.

6. Submit completed paperwork to the appropriate office.
