ABOUT THE WORKING ENVIROMENT
Within a single campus community college district governed by an elected Board of Trustees, El Camino College is a public, two-year college in southwest Los Angeles county. Founded in 1947, the college has an enrollment exceeding 24,000 day and evening students and occupies a 126 acre campus. The college provides a variety of programs to meet the educational, vocational and cultural needs of the districts nine constituent communities.
The College is fully accredited by the Commission of Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of School and Colleges. Beginning in August and ending in May, the regular instructional program is separated into fall and a spring semester which include day, and evening and weekend classes. The college also offers a limited summer session, usually of six weeks.
The normal week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Flexible work schedules. (4/40 or 9/80) may be arranged at the discretion of the Division.
