Women’s Basketball’s Ends Regular Season with 60-50 Win over Cerritos
TORRANCE, Calif. – Freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) and sophomore Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) combined for 42 points to lead the Warriors (14-13, 5-3) to a 60-50 regular season finale victory over Cerritos (19-10, 5-2) on Wednesday.
The Falcons held a slim one-point lead at the half with that margin holding going into the final 10 minutes. A big 27-point fourth quarter, led by 13 from Peneueta, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the line, secured the win for the Warriors.

Women’s Basketball’s Comeback Falls Short at LBCC
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The women’s basketball team (12-13, 3-3) scored 26 points in the final 10 minutes in an effort to erase an 18 points deficit, but the comeback fell just short as the Warriors lost 59-53 at Long Beach City College (22-4, 6-0) on Friday.
Sophomore guard Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) led the team with a game-high 15 points, adding a pair of assists. Freshmen guard Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) and forward Kourtney Noa (Redondo Union HS) backed her up with 10 points each. Peneueta also posted 12 boards, four assists, and two steals, while Noa had eight rebounds and a pair of steals.
The Warriors close out their regular season at home, hosting Cerritos College on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. in the North Gym.

Women's Basketball Rebounds with 71-35 win at LA Harbor
WILMINGTON, Calif. – Freshman forward Kourtney Noa (Redondo Union HS) counted her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 16 boards as the Warriors (12-12, 3-2) rebounded with a 71-35 win on the road at LA Harbor (4-18, 2-4) on Friday.
Freshman Megan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) scored a game-high 22 points with nine rebounds, two assists, and five steals. Sophomore Michelle Sroczynski (Bishop Montgomery HS) added 11 points to round out the players in double-figures.
The Warriors stay on the road, heading to Long Beach City next on Friday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m.

Three Warriors Post Double-Figures but Drop 72-53 Contest at Cerritos
NORWALK, Calif. – Freshman forward Kourtney Noa (Redondo Union HS) posted a 15-point, 11 rebound performance, but the Warriors (11-12, 2-2) dropped a 72-53 contest at Cerritos College (17-8, 3-0) on Friday evening.
Freshman Megan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) rebounded from earlier in the week with a 19-point, five rebound, two assist and two steal performance. Sophomore guard Tyler Quinn (Bishop Montgomery HS) added 11 points.
The Warriors return to action at LA Harbor on Friday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.

Women's Basketball Falls to Long Beach City College, 61-44
TORRANCE, Calif. – Sophomore guard Tyler Quinn (Bishop Montgomery HS) posted a team-high 14 points, but the Warriors (11-11, 2-1) fell 61-44 to Long Beach City College (18-4, 2-0) on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore guard Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) added the team's other double-figures performance with 12 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the line.

Warriors Stay Undefeated in Conference Play with Dominant 79-50 Win at LA Southwest
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Freshmen Megan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) and Elise Allison led all scorers with game-high 16-point performances as the women's basketball team (11-10, 2-0) stayed undefeated in conference play with a 79-50 victory over LA Southwest (1-16, 0-2) on Friday.
Peneueta posted a solid all-around game, adding six rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals. Allison led the Warriors on the boards with nine, tallying three assists and three blocked shots. Freshman Kourtney Noa (Redondo Beach HS) added 12 points, while sophomore Michelle Sroczynski (Bishop Montgomery HS) rounded out the scorers in double-figures with 11.

Women's Basketball Takes Conference Opener from LA Harbor, 73-42
TORRANCE, Calif. – Freshman Megan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) paced all scorers with 20 points, leading the women's basketball team's (10-10, 1-0) to a conference opener victory over LA Harbor (2-14, 0-1), 73-42, on Wednesday evening.
The game marked Peneueta's eighth 20-plus point performance this season. She added six rebounds, five assists, and seven steals. Sophomore Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) added 19 points and six rebounds, while freshman Elise Allison (Redondo Union) earned a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Off the bench, freshman Ronice Williams (Di Vinci Science HS) rounded out the scorers in double-figures with 10 points.

Warriors Drop 74-67 Contest at East LA
MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – In their last non-conference game of the season, the El Camino College Warriors (9-10) dropped at 74-67 contest at East LA (15-5) on Friday evening.
The Warriors converted on nine of 19 attempts from beyond the arc led by freshman Meghan Peneueta's (Redondo Union HS) four threes. Peneueta paced the team with 22 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Elise Allison (Redondo Union HS) added 17 points and five rebounds.

Women’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short against Pasadena City, 65-64
TORRANCE, Calif. – Despite 12 lead changes and seven tie scores, the Warriors’ (9-9) late run came up short, 65-64, against Pasadena City (11-8) on Wednesday evening.
PCC opened the game by scoring the first seven points before ECC eventually took a 31-27 halftime lead. A 19-6 run in the first 8:12 of the third quarter seemed to put the visiting Lancers in control at 46-37. But ECC turned the tide with 12 unanswered points giving the Warriors a 49-46 lead in the fourth.
With 40 seconds left in the game, the ECC trailed 65-59. Two free throws by freshman Kourtney Noa (Redondo Beach HS) and a huge three-pointer after a turnover by sophomore Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) setup a frantic final nine seconds. After the Lancers’ inbound pass hit the roof, Jolly’s final shot at the buzzer just missed and allowed the visitors to escape with a 65-64 win.
Freshman Megan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) led all scorers with 24 points, adding 12 rebounds. Noa chipped in 11 points in just 19 minutes of play, while sophomore Michelle Sroczynski (Bishop Montgomery HS) added eight points and two assists off the bench.
The women’s basketball team travels to East LA on Friday for a 5 p.m. game.

Women’s Basketball Drops Conference Opener to Top-Ranked Mt. SAC, 76-46
TORRANCE, Calif. – Freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) led ECC with 17 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, but the Warriors (8-8, 0-1) dropped its conference opener, 76-46, to top-ranked Mt. San Antonio (17-1, 1-0) on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Tyler Quinn (Bishop Montgomery HS) added 11 points, while freshman Elise Allison (Redondo Union HS) added seven boards and a pair of assists.
The women’s basketball team returns to the court on Friday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. at LA Trade Tech.

Warriors Take Consolation Title at Irvine Valley Tournament
IRVINE, Calif. – Freshman Elise Allison (Redondo Union HS) led the Warriors (7-3) to the consolation title at the Irvine Valley Tournament with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Grossmont (2-8), 60-50, on Saturday. She also posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the 53-48 rebounding win over Chaffey (7-6) on Friday.
Sophomore Tyler Quinn (Bishop Montgomery HS) led the team with 12 points and three assists, adding to her 10 points, four assists and four steals against Chaffey the day before. Freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Beach HS) added a team-high 12 points against the Panthers with six boards and three assists.
The women's basketball team returns to the court at the Coast Christmas Classic hosted by Orange Coast College. The team will face Saddleback College on Thursday, Dec. 17.

Warriors Win Third-Straight at ECC-Compton, 68-48
COMPTON, Calif. – Sophomore guard Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) scored a team-high 17 points, adding eight steals and four assists, to lead El Camino College (5-2) to a 68-48 win over El Camino-Compton Center (0-7) on Thursday evening.
ECC opened the game with a three from Jolly, establishing an early 9-2 lead. The Warriors defense caused 17 Tartar turnovers of their 27 total, converting them into 18 points in the first 20 minutes of play, 33 points off turnovers overall. El Camino College took a 37-23 lead into the locker room at halftime behind eight points each from Jolly and freshman Elise Allison (Redondo Union HS). Overall, Allison grabbed a team-high five rebounds with her 10 total points, while freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) chipped in 13 points.
The women's basketball team begins its December tournament play at the Irvine Valley Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. against Riverside College.

Women's Basketball Drops College of the Desert, 81-59
TORRANCE, Calif. – Sophomore Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) scored 19 points in the first half en route to leading the Warriors (4-2) to a 81-59 win over College of the Desert (5-5) on Tuesday evening.
The Warriors shot over 63 percent in the first half to take a 24-point lead at halftime with sophomore Tyler Quinn (Bishop Montgomery HS) running the offense and counting six first half assists.

Women's Basketball Routs West LA, 64-48, in Home Opener
TORRANCE, Calif. – Freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Warriors (3-2) to a 64-48 rout of West LA (2-3) in ECC's home opener on Tuesday.
After taking an early 13-2 lead in the first five minutes, the Warriors continued to build on their lead, never letting the Wildcats back into the game. Two other Warrior players also counted 14 points in sophomore guards Kyla Jolly (North Torrance HS) and Michelle Srocynski (Bishop Montgomery HS). The two combined for 11 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. As a team the Warriors tallied 18 assists on 28 made field goals.
The women's basketball team remains home, hosting College of the Desert on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.

Warriors Drop 81-62 Contest at Cypress
CYPRESS, Calif. – The El Camino College women’s basketball team (2-2) outscored Cypress in the second half, but was unable to overcome a slow first half, falling 81-62 on Friday.
Coming off the bench, freshman Elisa Allison (Redondo Union HS) led the Warriors with 15 points and eight rebounds, while freshman Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) led the starters with 12 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
ECC shot 39 percent from the field, and outrebounded the Chargers 41 to 30.
The women’s basketball team hosts West Los Angeles College for its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. in the North Gym.

Women’s Basketball Opens Season 2-1 at Riverside Tournament; Noa Named All-Tournament
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Freshman forward Kourtney Noa (Redondo Union HS) led the Warriors (2-1) to a fifth-place finish, earning All-Tournament Honors, at the Riverside City College Tournament Friday through Sunday to open the women’s basketball season.
ECC fell to Santa Ana, 78-47, on Friday before rebounding with a 55-51 win over Solano on Saturday. The Warriors routed Glendale, 75-53, on Sunday to win the consolation championship game.
Over the team’s three games, Noa averaged 14.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting 47.1 percent from the field. In the consolation final against Glendale, she had 16 of her 23 points in the first half, adding nine rebounds on the game.
Freshman guard Meghan Peneueta (Redondo Union HS) added a 14.7 point average per game to the team’s efforts, also earning an average 8.0 boards and 2.3 assists per game.
As a team, ECC shot 33 percent from the field, 29.9 percent from three-point range, and averaged 36.3 rebounds and 13.0 assists per game.
The women’s basketball team stays on the road at Cypress College on Friday, Nov. 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
