Men's Cross Country Finishes 2nd At SCC Championships

The Warriors finished second in the South Coast Conference Championships at Cerritos Regional Park on Oct. 29. 

Freshman David Rosales finished in second overall with a time of 21:50 over the extended four-mile course. The finish helped the Warriors secure a runner-up finish in the team standings with 47 points, finishing 10 points behind champions L.A. Trade Tech and well ahead of third place Cerritos (83 points). 

Sophomore Anthony Lewis placed 7th with a time of 22:44 and was followed by Alex Villaescusa in 9th place (22:51). Dezhan Bland finished in 23:04 (14th)a and Jon Nakai crossed the finish line in 23:07 (15th) to complete the top five finishers for the Warriors. 

Freshman Mike Guizar (23:19) placed 20th and Justin Caracoza fought through a twisted ankle he suffered during the last half of the race to finish in 22nd place (23:20).
