While serving a term as president of the Community College Coaches Association, coach Stanbury was responsible for the beginning of women's water polo as an official sport in 1995.  The lady Warriors have finished in the top 4 in the Conference four times since the inception of the El Camino College program.

The swimming program at El Camino College is very successful.  Both men's and women's teams have compiled 14 winning seasons.  Both teams have finished in the top 5 in the State Championships.  Over 100 athletes have earned All-American honors.  State and National records have been set.  Both teams have completed undefeated seasons.  The women have 5 Conference titles to their credit.  The women's swimming teams have compiled over 100 dual meet victories.  The men are drawing close.
