The 2015 season marks Lofgren's 26th year guiding the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Men's and Women's Track & Field programs. Lofgren has been blessed with some of the finest, hardest-working student-athletes and staff members possible. The El Camino College Track & Field and Cross Country program's tradition of excellence is one of the finest in California and we are all very proud of the program's many accomplishments.

El Camino lays claim to five State cross country titles, five State track & field titles, 88 Individual event and relay State Titles, and six National Community College records. Additionally, Lofgren's peers have awarded him six California Community College Coach-of-the-Year Awards and he is a 26-time South Coast Conference Coach-of-the-Year including both cross country and track & field. Lofgren is extremely proud of the large number of ECC Track and Cross Country Alumni that are current professionals in the education and coaching profession. Amongst some of his finest years in Cross Country are State Championship Titles for the women in 1990 and the men in 1992; Runner-up positions for the men in 1995 and the women in 1994, 1998, 1999, and 2003. The men were 3rd in 1990, 1991, 1996, 2005, and 2006. His Track and Field Teams have also placed high with the women winning the State Title in 1991 and 2011 and 2nd place finishes in 1992, 1996, and 1997. The men earned their highest place in school history with their 3rd place in 2002 and recently placed 5th in 2011. Lofgren's men and women have re-written the El Camino record books and Top-10 lists with the tremendous guidance of his knowledgeable and dedicated assistant coaches. The list of El Camino Cross Country and Track & Field transfers to the University level is very extensive with athletes placed in major programs throughout the country: Arizona, Kansas State, Mississippi, Michigan, UNLV, Florida, Kentucky, Long Beach State, UC Berkeley, Arizona State, UCLA, UCI, USC, Cal Poly SLO, UCSB, UCSD, Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Northridge, Chico State, and CSU Stanislaus  to name a few.
