Name: Teuila Barnes Year: Sophomore Position: Middle Blocker High School: Leuzinger HS Hometown: Compton About: Teuila comes from Leuzinger High School where she was her team MVP. She will be a middle blocker and may see time on the right side as well. In her free time, Teuila likes to go to go to church, spend time with friends and family, and find opportunities to serve others. She recently completed missions for her church, rewarding experiences that have changed her life. She is the youngest of four children with three older brothers. When she finishes her education she would like to be a psychologist working with children, or an elementary school teacher.

Name: Catherine Rose "Katie" Child Year: Freshman Position: Outside Hitter High School: Peninsula HS Hometown: Redondo Beach About: Catherine (known as Katie to her teammates) comes from Peninsula High School, where she was honored for the best offensive player. She played both outside and right side for her high school team and will see time at both of those positions for the Warriors. She is an optimistic person who likes to go to concerts, be outdoors, travel, take pictures, practice yoga, and meet new people. After El Camino College, she would like to pursue a career as an ethnographer, a branch of anthropology that deals with the scientific description of specific human cultures. |

Name: Kaitlyn Edwards Year: Sophomore Position: Outside Hitter High School: West Torrance HS Hometown: Torrance About: Kaitlyn, the younger of the Edwards twin sisters by two minutes, comes from West Torrance High School. She is a very versatile player and can play a variety of positions. She is quick, jumps well and has become a dominant outside hitter. While in high school, her top three achievements were: qualifying for the Junior Olympics with her club team, earning an “All Tournament Team” member award in the 2009 North High School Invitational, and being named the two-time Daily Breeze Player of the Week. Kaitlyn spends her time hanging out with friends and family, going to the beach, and coaching at South Bay Volleyball Club. She is majoring in kinesiology and will transfer to a four-year college or university, where she hopes to continue playing volleyball. Last season, Kaitlyn was a member of the South Coast Conference First Team. |

Name: Lauren Edwards Year: Sophomore Position: Middle Blocker High School: West Torrance HS Hometown: Torrance About: Lauren is back for her second season as the starting middle blocker for El Camino College. She led the team last year in hitting percentage and will see even more sets this season. She brings height, strength, experience, and power to the position. She is proud that she had excellent citizenship all four years of high school, qualified for the Junior Olympics, and made varsity at West High School as a sophomore. When not on the court, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and family, coaching for South Bay Volleyball Club, and playing beach volleyball. She is a hard worker and strives to do her best. After El Camino College, she plans to transfer to a four-year university and continue playing volleyball. Lauren was named to the Second Team for the South Coast Conference in 2010. |

Name: Miranda Marie Gagnier Year: Sophomore Position: Middle Blocker High School: El Segundo HS Hometown: El Segundo About: Miranda comes from El Segundo High School; she will be playing middle blocker this season. She has been improving tremendously each and every day. Miranda likes to play beach volleyball and has some amazing skills there. She sees herself as strong willed and determined to be successful. She stands a solid 6 feet and likes being tall. Miranda is majoring in communications and her dream job would be to work for Nike. She spends her free time drawing and writing poetry or going to the gym. She enjoys spending time with friends and traveling; her favorite hobby above all is eating. Miranda says she is very opinionated and doesn’t have a problem speaking her mind. She has played sports all her life and started volleyball in the eighth grade. |

Name: Chantelle Hood Year: Freshman Position: Outside Hitter High School: Venice HS Hometown: Venice About: Chantelle Hood joins the Warriors after a year at California State University, Fresno. She is from Venice High School where she played middle blocker. She is a published poetry writer, and has volunteered more than 600 hours with the Athletic Training program at Venice High School. Her big accomplishment is winning the science fair in third grade. She likes to motivate others toward excellence and strives to be a positive role model. When Chentelle completes her education she wants to be an athletic trainer and own a business in the sports medicine field. She is a hard worker and takes her education very seriously. |

Name: Tarryn Tuileisu Luafalemana Year: Freshman Position: Middle Blocker High School: Carson HS Hometown: Harbor City About: Originally from Carson High School, where she was MVP her junior and senior season and voted most competitive on her team, Tarryn attended the University of Arizona as a freshman. She was injured early on in training and decided to come back to the South Bay and compete for the Warriors. Tarryn is a solid middle blocker, quick, long and strong. She will bring power and a big blocking presence to the team. She is motivated by her family and works at improving every day. After El Camino College, Tarryn would like to play overseas then go on to become a physical trainer. |

Name: Chelsea Miranda Sihiva Mataalii Year: Freshman Position: Outside Hitter High School: North Torrance HS Hometown: Harbor City About: Chelsea is a 2011 graduate of North Torrance High School. She played middle blocker at North High and may see some time in the middle but will transition to the outside hitting position. Chelsea is majoring in pre-pharmacy. She spends most of her free time with her large extended family. |

Name: Sarah McFadden Year: Sophomore Position: Setter High School: Mayfair HS Hometown:Cerritos About: Sarah is from Mayfair High School and is the returning starting setter for the Warriors. She has returned stronger, faster, and more determined then ever to have a great year by leading the 2011 El Camino College team. Sarah is in the “Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame,” was a member of the 2009 All CIF Southern Section Team, and made the “Dream Team” honorable mention. After college she plans to become a flight attendant and keep training with her brother. She is dedicated to her family and is determined to be the best she can be in all aspects of her life. Sarah was a member of the 2010 South Coast Conference Second Team. |

Name: Hillary Murphy Year: Sophomore Position: Outside Hitter High School: West Torrance HS Hometown: Torrance About: Hillary is one of three players from a very successful West Torrance High School volleyball team. She can play a variety of positions, mostly outside hitter or opposite. She likes to hang out with family and friends, go to the beach, and play volleyball, and travel. In high school Hillary was the MVP on her volleyball team, nominated for Athlete of the Year 2010. This past year she won the best attendance award for the Athlete Academic Achievement Program at El Camino College. She plans to use her excellent people skills in the teaching profession, focusing on kindergarten-age children. She admires the John Wooden quote: “It’s not so important who starts the game but who finishes it.” |

Name: Karlee Napoleon Year: Freshman Position: Defensive Specialist High School: Carson HS Hometown: Carson About: Karlee comes from Carson High School, where she was a part of the team that made it to the L.A. City Finals. She maintained a 3.0 grade point average at Carson High and was the libero for the All Marine League Team. Karlee will be a defensive specialist at El Camino College. She has a great sense of humor and when not at school, she likes spending time with her family. She is proud of her Hawaiian culture and has participated in hula and Tahitian dance since she was 3 years old. After El Camino College, Karlee plans to pursue a medical degree and eventually wants to be a pediatrician. |

Name: Nigeria Owens Year: Freshman Position: Middle Blocker High School: Los Altos HS Hometown: Pasadena About: At 6 feet 2 inches tall, Nigeria Owens will be the tallest member of the team this season. She is a middle blocker from Los Altos High School who attended Morgan State University in Maryland before returning to the South Bay area. Track and volleyball were her sports of choice in high school. She medaled at the junior Olympics for track in the 4 x 400 and played for both the Top Gun and Impact volleyball clubs. Her club teams competed at the Junior Olympics. When she completes her education, Nigeria would like to be a senior executive for an advertising and marketing firm. |

Name: Zoe Pantera Year: Sophomore Position: Libero High School: Redondo Union HS Hometown: Redondo Beach About: Zoe is a defensive specialist player; she brings personality, heart, effort, and humor to practice everyday. She enjoys the outdoors, especially surfing, hanging with friends, and hiking and plans to pursue a major in environmental science. At Redondo Union High School, Zoe earned a 4.0 her senior year, won second place in the finals for Redondo High’s surf team, and was named the “most inspirational player” on her varsity volleyball team. This past season at El Camino College, Zoe was a ScholarBaller. |

Name: Karly Siverts Year: Sophomore Position: Outside Hitter/OPP High School: Culver City HS Hometown: Culver City About: Karly is from Culver City High School, and competed in 2009 for Pierce College. She transferred to El Camino College soon after and will compete on the 2011 squad. She likes to play volleyball when she can, hang out with friends, and work out. At Culver City High School, she was a varsity player from her freshman year; her stand-out performance made her a First Team All League selection as a sophomore, junior and senior. Karly has been playing volleyball since the seventh grade; she plans to transfer to a four-year college or university and continue playing volleyball. She would like to pursue a career as a physical therapist or an athletic trainer. |

Name: Keely Stevenson Year: Sophomore Position: Libero High School: El Segundo HS Hometown: El Segundo About: Keely comes to El Camino College from El Segundo High School. Last season, she competed at Northern Arizona University. Keely brings some maturity to the team, along with excellent defensive skills. Keely was the named the most valuable player of her high school team and made the honor roll at El Segundo High. When she is not working, she likes to spend time at the beach with friends. |

Name: Erika Wilvang Year: Sophomore Position: OPP High School: El Segundo HS Hometown: El Segundo About: Erika Wilvang comes from El Segundo High School. She primarily plays on the right side, but will see time on the outside as well. She is working on strength and flexibility and improving every day. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, drawing, and playing the piano. Erika is dedicated to work hard and is determined to complete the challenges that come her way. During her high school career Erika maintained a 4.0 grade point average for all four years, was a part of the Northrop Grumman Internship Program, and was a member of the El Segundo High School volleyball team for the past four years. |
