KRASNOYARSK NATIONAL DANCE
COMPANY OF SIBERIA

Vivid characters, enchanting musical movements and fanciful patterns of choreographic design have defined this company since it was founded in 1960. In a kaleidoscopic manner, the dancers present a continuous stream of folk elements, old round as well as modern movements, all drenched in imagination. The stage becomes a large choreographic canvas with a whirlwind of episodes and contrasting rhythms.

Marsee Auditorium $28 / $24 (Children 12 and under $12)

LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO

Mostly in Zulu, but also in English, their themes are simple subjects: God, the generation gap, a desire for peace and reconciliation. Lead vocalist and conductor Joseph Shabalala guides the 10-member a cappella choir through layered, rich vocals that are both exotic and inspiring but, despite the ecumenical nature of most lyrics, there is a secular joy and jubilant energy that transcends the language barrier. Born in the mines of South Africa, the music is rich in tradition, making Ladysmith Black Mambazo a national treasure of the new South Africa, in part because they embody history suppressed in the old regime.

Marsee Auditorium $26 / $22 (Children 12 and under $12)

THE BEST OF AOTEAROA

Aotearoa is Maori for "Land of the Long White Cloud," a name chosen by four of New Zealand's most celebrated musicians: Gray Bartlett, guitar; Tim Beveridge, tenor; Ben Morrison, violinist, and Brendan Dugan, New Zealand's top country music star.
With a five-piece band, they perform popular music by top artists, as well as a blend of Maori tunes and some songs of the Pacific Islands.

LEAHY

Sibling sensations from Canada, Leahy fiddle their way through Irish, Scottish, classical, jazz and more in music that expands the boundaries of traditional Celtic sounds. Although the nine-piece Irish-Canadian brother and sister group specializes in Celtic pop, their talents abound in versatility with piano, singing and dancing. Spectacular in sight and sound! "The band's sound is big, fat, exuberant and punchy, punctuated by fierce hailstorms of solo and group step-dancing" (Rhythm Magazine).
Marsee Auditorium $26 / $22 (Children 12 and under $12)
