DONALD BYRD – THE GROUP

L.A. Premiere of work set to Duke Ellington

Choreographer Donald Byrd illuminates the particular genius of Duke Ellington in the L.A. Premiere of his new creation, In A Different Light: Ellington. Employing lesser–known and unpublished Ellington works, Byrd continues his singular exploration of the jazz medium, crafting dances of dramatic beauty and subtle wit. "Donald Byrd is not only choreographically intelligent and imaginative, but unpredictable as well" (New York Times).
