Sunday, March 11 at 3 pm THE TAMING OF THE SHREW by William Shakespeare directed by Thomas F. Bradac Love and Marriage portrayed from an "Elizabethan World" view. Delighting audiences for more than 400 years, it is one of Shakespeare's most popular and enduring comedies. Baptista, a rich gentleman of Padua, wants to find husbands for his two daughters. Petruchio, newly arrived from Verona and in search of a rich wife, undertakes to woo Katherine for her dowry, in spite of her fearsome reputation. Disguises and deception abound and the battle ensues, ending in a wager on whose wife is most submissive. Controversial and exasperating, or comical and entertaining, Shrew is perhaps the most famous play ever written about the battle of the sexes. Campus Theatre Evenings: $9 / Matinee: $7 |
