2004 Spring Review
	Friday, March 5, 2004 at 8 pm RICHARD ORMROD, piano Welsh pianist Richard Ormrod dazzles audiences worldwide with his polished technique and fluent musicianship. Critics praise his subtlety of tone and masterly control. He resides in London and serves on faculty of Cardiff College and Welsh College of Music and Drama, performing with such groups as the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and London's Barbican Center Orchestra. 	Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 7 pm DEBUSSY TRIO Marcia Dickstein, harp Angela Wiegand, flute David Walther, viola Contemporary chamber music at its best! The Trio's performances abound with enthusiasm, precision and a sense of adventure. Innovative repertoire includes styles from French Impressionism to American jazz-fusion as well as works of famed film composers. The El Camino performance will feature a World Premiere work. 	Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 8 pm ITALIAN SAXOPHONE QUARTET Four of the most established soloists in their field have won major chamber music competitions including first prize in the Premier Ancona since the group formed in 1982. Noted for originality of instrumentation and for unquestioned quality of performance. "Think you don't like saxophone quartets? Oh my, think again! 	Friday, April 2, 2004 at 8 pm CANTUS Gregorian chants, Renaissance motets, contemporary sacred works, folk, jazz and pop -Cantus does it all as one of today's top male vocal chamber ensembles. Now in their sixth year, they earn constant praise for their unique blend of youthful vitality and polished nuance. 	Friday, May 7, 2004 at 8 pm CHAMBER ORCHESTRA OF THE SOUTH BAY Frances Steiner, conductor with 2001 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, OLGA KERN, piano "Olgamania" returns to Marsee Auditorium! Our Classical series concludes with the return of the Chamber Orchestra joined by Ms. Kern performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in e minor.
