The Joy of Music program is a series of courses designed with the older adult in mind. Developed as part of the college�s MUSIC APPRECIATION program, Joy of Music lectures are given at a variety of South Bay Senior Centers and at El Camino College by college faculty members, guest lecturers, and featured musical artists. The lectures focus upon and are followed by attendance at selected El Camino College Center for the Arts concerts. Program participants attend two lectures preceding each concert.

This season, Joy of Music lectures can be found at the Pacific Inn (Torrance), St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (Redondo Beach), Carson Community Center (Carson), and Hesse Park (Rancho Palos Verdes) in addition to the on–campus locations.

Program coordinator Leslie Back invites everyone in the community to experience this exceptional program which is now in its fourteenth year. Back says, "The lectures and concerts are outstanding as well as the camaraderie among participants."
