Saturday, March 17 Gala performance with reception* Friday/Saturday, March 23, 24, 30, 31, 2007 at 8pm Sunday, March 18, 25 / April 1, 2007 at 3 pm A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM Book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Thomas F. Bradac, Director Ron Scarlata, Artistic Director Kayleen Leone, Choreographer Joanna Nachef, Vocal Director Hector Salazar, Musical Director/Conductor "Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!" Broadway's greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent, and one of the funniest musicals ever written - the perfect escape from life's troubles. A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To The Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. The result is a non-stop laugh-fest in which a crafty slave (Pseudolus) struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan (Philia) for his young master (Hero), in exchange for freedom. "It's funny, true nonsense! A merry good time!" ~Herald Tribune
Campus Theatre $24 (Gala Performance $50*)

Friday/Saturday, May 25, 26 / June 1, 2, 2006 at 8 pm Sunday, June 3, 2006 at 3 pm The Wrestling Season By Laurie Brooks The drama tackles subject matter seldom addressed but vital to youth and their families. The search for identity and the peer pressure that accompanies it. Using only the setting of a wrestling mat, eight young people struggle with the destructive power of rumors and how others see them. The action is overseen by The Referee, who comments on the action from inside and outside the drama with hand signals and commands. "...a writer with a true sense of how young people speak and handle confrontation. Never before has the mantra of 'sticks and stones' seemed so trite. Names can indeed hurt, break, and destroy" ~Pitch Weekly.
This show contains adult language and content (R).
