MACBETH
By William Shakespeare

A New Concept by director John J. Demita
William Shakespeare's short, savage tragedy tells the tale of a military hero who is spurred on by his ambitious wife, and dangerously fascinated with witchcraft.  This "timeless" adaptation combines elements from history and fantasy, and will remind audiences to be careful what they wish for...they may indeed get it.

This show is not suitable for children under 12 (PG13).

"Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!" Broadway's greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent, and one of the funniest musicals ever written - the perfect escape from life's troubles.  A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To The Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville.  The result is a non-stop laugh-fest in which a crafty slave (Pseudolus) struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan (Philia) for his young master (Hero), in exchange for freedom.  "It's funny, true nonsense!  A merry good time!" ~Herald Tribune

Campus Theatre $24 (Gala Performance $50*)

This production is being funded, in part, from the Musical Theatre Fund established in 2005 through the generous donations from the Les Thomas Family and Hamilton M. Maddaford.  We would like to acknowledge and thank the generous donors who attended the 2006 Man of La Mancha performances and contributed to the Musical Theatre Fund.  Proceeds from the March 17 and March 18 performances benefit the El Camino College Foundation Musical Theatre Fund.

The Wrestling Season
By Laurie Brooks

The drama tackles subject matter seldom addressed but vital to youth and their families.  The search for identity and the peer pressure that accompanies it.  Using only the setting of a wrestling mat, eight young people struggle with the destructive power of rumors and how others see them.  The action is overseen by The Referee, who comments on the action from inside and outside the drama with hand signals and commands.  "...a writer with a true sense of how young people speak and handle confrontation.  Never before has the mantra of 'sticks and stones' seemed so trite.  Names can indeed hurt, break, and destroy" ~Pitch Weekly.

This show contains adult language and content (R).

Campus Theatre $10

As a courtesy to the performers and our audiences, children under 5 years of age will not be admitted to theatre series performances.  Children 5 and older, however, must have a tickets and be able to sit quietly throughout the performance.  Thank you for your support and understanding.
