FOSTER & KINSHIP EDUCATION

Service Area Outcomes (SAOs)

 

Foster & Kinship Care Education Pre-Service Classes

Students will identify and learn at least two criteria needed to successfully access at Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) for their special needs.

 

Foster & Kinship Care Education Renewal Classes

Students who attend the Foster & Kinship Care Education (FKCE) Program's renewal classes will learn information and strategies that enable them to support the child's safety, well-being, and permanence needs and effectively use trauma-informed strategies to meet the needs of the children in their care.

 

Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in parenting (PS-MAPP)

Students attending the Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in parenting (PS-MAPP) class will gain the knowledge and skills that enables them to select whether or not to foster or adopt at this time.

 

Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success (Y.E.S.S.)

Students will demonstrate their understanding of the Housing Options and Money Management skills they are trained in the LST class.
