The Los Angeles area is vast and complex. Transportation can be difficult if you are not living near campus. There are plenty of public buses, but they do not run as frequently as in most other cities. We will provide you with information about buses (www.torrnet.com/128.htm) in the area. In the ECLA office, we have bus schedules for most of the South Bay area and Los Angeles. We do, however, strongly recommend you consider living within walking distance or short bus ride from the campus especially during your first semester.
