DISTANCE EDUCATION STUDENT WELCOME HOUR (FALL 2011)
The next FREE Distance Education Student Welcome Hour will be held on Tuesday, August 30th from 12-1pm and Thursday, September 1st from 4-5pm in the Schauerman Library, West Basement, Room 10. ARE YOU PREPARED FOR AN ONLINE COURSE?
El Camino College offers the following to assist you with successfully completing a distance education course:
1. Check your readiness for taking an online course at our Online Student Readiness Assessment.
2. For technical assistance and orientation to the course management system, come to our free, on-campus Distance Education Student Welcome Hour held at the beginning of each semester or complete the web-based pre-orientation for students who are new to distance education.
3. You will need basic computer and Internet skills to complete most online courses. Learn the basics of (Word) word processing, (Excel) spreadsheets, (Access) databases and (PowerPoint) presentations in CIS 13, Introduction to Computer Information Systems or Academic Strategies 60.
