Academic Requirements
Most real estate courses have a recommended preparation of eligibility for English 1A (Reading and Composition). Students may take placement tests for assesment. Contact the Assesment / Testing office for more information.
Most real estate courses want the student to complete RE-11 Real Estate Principles, or hold a real estate license.
Courses in a series require completion of the lower level course prior to talking taking the upper level course; such as: Finance 1 and advanced Real Estate Finance; or, Appraisal1 and Advanced Real Estate Appraisal.
You do NOT need to have completed a high school degree or any college level courses. With the proper paperwork you may be eligible to take the RE 11 - Real Estate Principles for high school graduation credit, for El Camino College Associate degree credit for an El Camino College Certificate of Competence, for transfer to a four-year college for degree unit credit and for California Department of Real Estate Salesperson of Broker License. |
