WELCOME!!

What a pleasure to help you get going this semester! If this is your first online class experience, remember that you didn’t learn to ride a bike before you learned to walk, so just don’t give up too quickly. For experienced online learners, this course does NOT use WebCT or Blackboard. Your real estate course will utilize 3 Internet resources.

The first resource is the instructor homepage http://www.elcamino.edu/faculty/dgrogan . The left side has 3 groups. (#1) lists the individual real estate courses. Click the name of YOUR class to obtain the SYLLABUS and many of the assignments. (#2) has items such as Calculators, Calendar for the instructor for the semester showing due dates for ALL classes, Licensee data, Industry Meeting Report & Scholarship info. Q&A will be posted here! (#3) shows various items for the RE Project, used for most classes.

The second resource is the publisher site where you watch interactive presentations, complete weekly challenge exercises, all quizzes, exercises and exams for the course.  You MUST complete the pre-test (allow 2 hours) before you may begin the course work, but is not scored in your grade.

To access the publisher site, you MUST purchase a NEW shrink-wrapped textbook bundle from the college bookstore. The textbook has a student guide and in this guide, locate the Key-Code. Read the guide instructions to get the User ID & PASSWORD emailed to you, to access the course. The chapter # order is found on the syllabus. Put your USER ID and PASSWORD in a safe place that is easy to find.

After you receive the User ID & Password, go to
www.rockwelleducation.com and complete the pre-test and begin the course presentation and tests. The presentations include graphics, animation, talking characters (turn on your computer speakers). Challenge exercises are like homework. You can ONLY take the cumulative quiz (chapter quiz) AFTER you have completed the challenge exercises up to that point.

General questions are often answered using the HOMEPAGE Q&A. Individual questions will receive private answers by email or phone, during the instructor’s scheduled office hour (See Calendar).  More info below:

Accessing Your Course and the 3 elements for this course:

1. El Camino College (ECC) Instructor HOMEPAGE: You will need an ECC Student ID Number and use MYECC to access your personal access. Make sure you are officially enrolled. Go to the Instructor Home Page to access the course information. (www.elcamino.edu/faculty/dgrogan ) The chapter # order is found on the syllabus.

2. Email: The syllabus will instruct you for the email you are using.

3. Publisher Web Site: To access the course, you will need an El Camino Student ID Number, a unique User ID and Password. Log onto ( www.rockwelleducation.com/cc ) and enter the Key Code (located on the direction card in the student guide). You must complete the course information in the corresponding fields, including your course ECC Student ID #. Then, clicking the “Submit” button. You will thereafter be assigned a User ID and Password. This information will allow you to log into your account and begin your course.

PRINT AND SAVE THE USER ID & PASSWORD FOR FUTURE COURSE ACCESS.
