Circulation Services, located in the main lobby of the Library, is committed to serving
library patrons by performing or assisting with various functions related to the accessibility
and borrowing of library materials. Circulation is also responsible for activating
library accounts, managing holds placed on items, searching for missing books, handling
overdue and lost book fees, collecting lost and found items and supervising group
study room reservations.
Library services are available to current students, faculty, and staff of El Camino
College. A current El Camino College ID card is required and can be obtained from
the campus Photo ID booth, located in the Student Development/Student Activities Center. Students must activate
their library account at the library's Circulation Desk each semester to ensure they
have continued access to library services. Report lost ID cards immediately as library
patrons are responsible for all materials checked out on their account.
Guest affiliate cards providing limited access to library services are available to
the following groups: Friends of the Library, ECC Alumni Association, and CSULB or
Friends of the Library membership is available for non-students in the community who wish to utilize some of the resources available from the ECC Library. Annual membership is $25.00 and can be requested from the library's Circulation desk. Members receive an affiliate library card and have borrowing privileges for our general circulation materials.
Patrons may check out library materials (excluding Reserve textbooks) at the Circulation Desk. Students may have a total of 14 books checked out on their account at one time. Books available for checkout (excluding Reserve materials) may be borrowed for 3 weeks with up to 3 renewals allowed per semester. Books may not be renewed if a hold has been placed on them by another patron.
All materials must be returned on or before the due date to avoid library fines. Overdue general circulating materials are fined $0.25 per day; reserve textbooks are fined $0.25 per hour; lost or damaged materials are charged the replacement cost, along with a $10.00 processing fee.

Group Study Room Reservations
The Library provides 10 group study rooms that are available to ECC students by reservation.
Study rooms are for academic use only and cannot be used for commercial purposes,
club meetings or social activities. In order to ensure rooms are available to as many
students as possible, groups are limited to a total of 2 hours per day and 6 hours
per week. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance using the library's Libcal Online Booking platform. Library staff has the right to approve, modify or cancel all reservations
Books, articles, and materials not available through the El Camino College Library can usually be obtained from another library via our Interlibrary Loan Service. This service is offered to ECC faculty, staff and students with a valid ASB sticker. Request forms can be submitted to the library's Reference Desk. Books can take approximately two weeks to be delivered by the lending library and articles can take approximately one week.
