FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY


When you become a Friend of the El Camino College Library, you receive your own personal Library Card with Library resource borrowing and use privileges.   Library resources include the following:

  • A book collection in excess of 125,000 volumes, with over 10,000 reference books plus special law, nursing, and music materials  
  • Hundreds of computers equipped with commonly used software programs (Library Media Technology Center)
  • Computer-assisted instruction lab facilities
  • Many online information databases, including periodical databases, for research
  • A variety of newspapers and magazines in paper or microfiche format
  • Tutorial services  

From time to time, you will also receive invitations to special Library programs such as book sales and artist receptions. 

To join and become a Friend of the El Camino College Library, please stop by the Library and complete an application form.  There is a $25 annual fee required for membership.  As a Friend, we invite you to become involved:     

  • Visit the Library and become acquainted with the facilities.
  • Attend a Friends of the Library program.
  • Donate books and materials to assist current students.
  • Help with a gift, bequest or grant to support Library programs that otherwise might not be possible.

The Friends of the El Camino College Library are proud to be a component of the El Camino College Foundation for Higher Education, Arts and Athletics, an organization dedicated exclusively to the furtherance of the College and all its activities. All contributions to the Foundation and the Friends of the Library are fully tax deductible under applicable laws of the State of California and within the context of the Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)3.
