Alt-HealthWatch focuses on articles from journals and reports on alternative, holistic approaches to health care and wellness. It offers full-text articles from nearly 180 international and often peer-reviewed/scholarly publications. (New)

CINAHL Plus With Full Text (Cumulated Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature Plus with Full Text) offers full-text articles from more than 600 nursing, biomedicine, and consumer health journals and over 200 books/monographs, 1937 to the present. It is the world’s most comprehensive nursing and allied health research database. (New)

Health and Wellness Resource Center includes the Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine, the PDR Family Guide for Nutrition and Health, along with articles from hundreds of health/medical journals and pamphlets. 

Health Reference Center--Academic contains full-text articles from health and medical journals and magazines.

Health Source: Consumer Edition has information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health. Features searchable full text for journals including Consumer Reports on Health and Men’s Health, as well as abstracts and indexing for general health, nutrition and professional health care publications.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition provides scholarly full-text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. This database is updated daily.

MEDLINE provides primarily index and citation information on journal articles and other resources related to medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and more. While essentially based on the tool created by the National Library of Medicine, some links to full-text material have been added. (New)

Also using the Magazine, Journal, and Newspaper databases should be considered.

Web Sites 

Clinical Trials offers "easy access to information on clinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions."

Pub Med accesses over 11 million citations in MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, and other related databases, with links to participating online journals.

Ella Rose Madden Collection

This is a special collection of textbooks and other print resources devoted to health and nursing. Located in the West Basement of the Library.

Magazines & Journals in Print

El Camino subscribes to many nursing, health, and nutrition journals and magazines. Current issues are displayed along the east and south walls of the Reference Room. Back issues can be found at the Periodicals/Reserve Desk in the southwest corner of the Reference Room.
