American History and Life with Full Text is an important database that covers the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. Over 1,700 journals are indexed, and full-text coverage offered for more than 230 journals and nearly 100 books. 

Boom: A Journal of California is the first scholarly, peer-reviewed journal to explore the state in a comprehensive way--its history, economy, politics, culture and arts. It was launched in March 2011, and the Library offers it online through the JSTOR platform as well as in print form. Issues in print are available in the Periodicals Department.

CountryWatch provides background information about individual countries and political and economic news from around the world.

Ethnic NewsWatch offers full-text newspaper and magazine articles from ethnic, minority, and native publications. It may be searched in English and Spanish.

Oxford Islamic Studies Online offers reference materials and commentary by prominent scholars in areas such as global Islamic history, concepts, people, politics, and culture. Included are chapters from introductory and scholarly works, primary sources, images, maps, timelines, a glossary, a guide to teaching Islam, and links to recommended web sites.
