Meet Christina Gold

Hobbies: Spending time with her two children and her husband; especially enjoys outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, and bike riding.
Little Known Fact : Christina was born in Berkeley in the '60s while her parents were in graduate school and marched in anti-war protests as a preschooler.
Christina Gold has been on the collegewide Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) committee since its inception. She was also the Chair of the Behavioral and Social Sciences SLO Committee for two years and is currently an SLO facilitator.
“I like the SLO process because it gives me a clear understanding of what my students are learning,” she said. “I know what I am trying to teach them, but through assessment, I can see if they are actually learning as well.”
Christina is the Academic Sentate VP of Faculty Development and was recently voted to serve as Academic Senate President Elect. She has also worked with the First Year Experience, Honors Transfer Program, and the Faculty Inquiry Partnership Program (FIPP).
“One of the things that really impresses me about El Camino College is that the faculty are so committed to the college and student learning,” she said. “They really care about their students and want them to succeed.”
