Paperwork:
The applicant must have the LiveScan paperwork in hand or he/she will be turned away and will have to reschedule for a later date. LiveScan paperwork must be filled out completely. If an applicant is to be LiveScanned for multiple items, a separate form is required for each item.
Every applicant must be in possession of a valid form of photo ID to be fingerprinted.

Fees:
Applicants must be prepared to pay all fees (rolling fee, DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index, Firearms) at the time of their LiveScan appointment. There is a mandatory $20.00 rolling fee, fees as set by the DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index, and Firearms range from $32.00 to as much at $120.00. The DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index, and Firearms Clearance reserve the right to change any and all fees for the service(s) with out notice. If two or more LiveScans are requested for the same person, the cost is $20.00 for the first print set and $15.00 for each additional print set. Fees will be assessed for each form submitted.
For example: If applicant is renewing two licenses he/she needs a form filled out for each license and will be charged $20.00 for the first print set and $15.00 for the second license in addition to the DOJ and FBI fees.
DOJ and FBI fees range from $32.00 up to $120.00, depending on the levels of service. For each Hard Card, the cost is $20.00, for up to two cards. Each additional card is 15.00.
Payment must be in the form of check, cash, or money order ONLY. We do not accept credit cards, ATM cards, or debit cards.
NSF Checks
A $20.00 Administrative Fee will be assessed if a check is returned for any reason. The El Camino Police Department utilizes the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office "Bad Check Restitution" program for any over due account.
Children:
We do not have childcare facilities in the Police Department and are concerned for the safety of children. We encourage applicants to leave children at home unless the children are old enough to sit and wait in the Lobby. If a child is causing a problem the parents will have to re-schedule for a time when arrangements can be made for childcare. Children are not permitted in the printing area for safety and security reasons.

LiveScans are by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call (310) 660-6140 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. If the line is busy, calling after hours, or there is no answer, leave a message and the LiveScan staff will return your call with in 3 business days. Applicants need to arrive a few minutes early. Late applicants may have to wait or will be re-scheduled for a different date and time.
