Commencement Student Speaker

We're looking for this year's student speaker for commencement! Here's your chance to address classmates and the rest of the ECC community at commencement in Murdock Stadium.

Eligibility

The commencement student speaker must:

  • Be a member of the graduating class
  • Submit and audition their speech to the selection committee (a speech of up to three minutes will be allowed, on a topic appropriate to the occasion).

Procedure for Submission

  1. Submit the application form and typed manuscript to kvonstein@elcamino.edu by the deadline
  2. IMPORTANT: You will be contacted to set up an audition so the panel can hear your speech.

Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1 p.m.

Selection Process

A selection panel will review the manuscripts. Candidates will participate in an oral audition. Selection will be based on content and presentation. The selection of the student speaker by the panel is final.

Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony is on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 4 p.m. in Murdock Stadium. The speaker must be available for a brief rehearsal the morning of Commencement at about 10 a.m.
