KEAS (Knowledgeable, Engaged, and Aspiring Students) Program

The Knowledgeable, Engaged, and Aspiring Students (KEAS) Program was designed in 2015 to provide support to students who have placed into pre-college level coursework at El Camino College. Our program understands the importance of building strong foundations in Math and English as students prepare to take transferable courses. Under the Student Equity Program, we combine learning communities and dedicated instructors with support services outside of the classroom. The KEAS staff, faculty, and counselors are committed to providing equitable support services to reduce the academic achievement gap and increase persistence rates among our college community. The KEAS Program benefits include:

  • Free book loans for KEAS classes
  • Math and English Tutoring
  • Priority KEAS Class Registration
  • Workshops/Strategies for College Success
  • KEAS Computer Lab and Printing
  • Free calculator loans for KEAS classes
  • Academic Advising Support
  • Counseling by appointment and drop-in
  • Linked Learning Community Activities

Our services are offered to any El Camino College student who is eligible for pre-college level course work in English or Math. Our program is designed to transition students from basic skill level courses to college transferable courses. Because of this, the time commitment for students varies on the student’s placement scores.
