NOTICE ABOUT A SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL THE VACANCY OF ECC STUDENT TRUSTEE

On December 8 and 9, 2009 the ECC Associated Students Organization will hold a special election to fill the vacancy of the position of Student Trustee on the ASO Student Senate. Find out more about the qualifications and duties of the Student Trustee position and how to obtain a candidate petition by clicking on the links below:

STUDENT SENATE MEETINGS

CURRENT SENATE MEMBERS FOR FALL 2009 - SPRING 2010

All El Camino College students are members of the Associated Student Body and their governing group is the Associated Students Organization Student Senate. The Student Senate is composed of nine Executive Officers and two Senators representing each of the college's eight academic divisions. General elections are held in the Spring semester as authorized by the ASO Constitution. Members of the Student Senate represent students on various campus committees as well as the Board of Trustees.

APPLY FOR AN APPOINTED POSITION IN THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS ORGANIZATION

Eligibility for most ASO positions include enrollment in at least 6 units at ECC, a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have paid for an ASB Sticker. Additional job descriptions are in the ASO Constitution and By-Laws - see links below to review these documents.  If you are interested in applying, please complete an application for appointment and turn it in the ASO President's mailbox at the counter in the Activities Center West Lounge.  Applications are available in the Student Development Office (Activities Center West Lounge) or by printing a copy from this 2 page file:  Application for Appointment (2 page printable copy in pdf format).  If you are interested in becoming a candidate for the Student Trustee position, please read the information about the Special Election.
