STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

The Student Development program helps El Camino College students get involved in campus life through:

• Leadership
• Activities
• Clubs
• Services

Students have the opportunity to enhance their leadership abilities and expand their education beyond the classroom through co-curricular programs offered through the Student Development Office.  Many skills such as communication, organization and leadership are developed when students have a chance to make decisions that concern El Camino College and plan diverse activities that can help make a difference on campus.

These skills can carry on well beyond college life.  Many students involved in Student Development activities have continued on to successful careers as attorneys, teachers, politicians, journalists, entertainers, doctors, and civic leaders, to name a few.

Activities: Student Government - ASO Senate, Division Councils and Committees - ASO offices and mailboxes in the Activities Center
Inter-Club Council - one representative from each club on campus - ICC office and mailbox are in the Activities Center
Clubs - there are more than 40 student organizations available at ECC - mailboxes are located in the Activities Center
Alpha Gamma Sigma - The ECC Honor Society is part of a statewide organization whose purpose is to foster, promote, maintain and recognize scholarship and service.

ASB Stickers can be purchased at the Student Development Office - phone: (310) 660-3500
Housing Referral - If you have a room/apartment for rent that you want to list in the Housing Referral book, please complete this Room For Rent form
Student Insurance - Brochures are available from private companies providing student insurance coverage at reduced rates
Posting Approval - All materials posted on campus kiosks must be approved (and posted) by the Student Development Office staff.
Distribution of Literature - All materials distributed on campus must be authorized by the Director of Student Development
Mailboxes for Student Organizations located in the Activities Center West Lounge
Student Offices - ASO and ICC offices are located in the Activities Center West Lounge

Banner-making materials are available for campus organizations
Commencement Activities are implemented by the Student Development Office
