TEST PREPARATION

All students are encouraged to pre-review before taking the placement tests. It makes good sense to pre-review. It will help you to place higher, which means you will save time (fewer classes to take) and money (fewer classes to pay for) and you will accomplish your educational goals that much faster. Review is particularly important for math – if you know you've forgotten your basic math or basic algebra, take some time to review the basics, and you'll be surprised what comes back to you. Reviewing for placement testing will help you get into classes that will be much more interesting and challenging for you.

MY MATH TEST - FREE

El Camino College students have access to an online program, My Math Test, which has practice tests and creates an individualized study program specifically for the ECC Math Placement Test. For instructions how to access this free service, go to the above website. My Math Test is highly recommended by the Math Division. Please note--there is no charge if you use the aforementioned web address. If you go directly to MyMathTest.com, there is a fee.

KHAN ACADEMY - FREE

All of the site's resources are available to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.
Review for Math; divided into separate math subjects (e.g. Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra,and Trigonometry).
