INTERNSHIPS
Program Overview
El Camino Community College, an educational leader and business partner for over fifty years in the South Bay strongly believes that an essential component of our student’s educational experience is the ability to provide practical hands-on work experience in their chosen field of study. We believe that internships can provide valuable benefits to both the student and the employer. For instance, internships can afford students the ability to integrate practical hands-on experience with academic theory. In addition, such experiences expose our students to the latest cutting edge technologies and ultimately provide an opportunity for developing critical networking relationships with industry professionals.
As employers, the El Camino College Office of Career and Placement Services believes that having the opportunity to train and educate potential candidates for their future workforce creates a pool of students who come better prepared to interview and can reduce time and costs associated with training. Employers also benefit from a diverse population of students who are highly motivated and who have demonstrated their commitment to work. Finally, companies who participate in internships receive increased exposure in the community.
