COMMUNITY & BUSINESS PARTNERS

The El Camino College Financial Aid Office welcomes every opportunity to partner with and to educate students and their families, the community, and local businesses about financial aid programs and services. Together we can make a difference by providing needed resources to students. The programs and services listed below are made available to the community and local businesses.

Federal Work-Study Program:

The Financial Aid Office administers a Federal Work Study (FWS) Program. This program affords students an opportunity to work while attending college. Local businesses that create employment opportunities for college students receiving FWS award may receive up to 50% of their payroll paid from our federal work-study account. We encourage the local business community to partner with the El Camino College Financial Aid Office to develop employment opportunities and internships for our students. Outreach Services

The Financial Aid Office conducts outreach activities to help educate students, staff, and parents on federal, state and institutional financial aid programs,  on campus and in the community. You may request a Financial Aid Orientation, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshop or a special Financial Aid Night Program by submitting the Outreach Request Form. Please contact Abetta McQueen, Outreach Coordinator for the Financial Aid Office at 310-660-3593, x6038 for additional information. Scholarships Office & Foundation Office

The Financial Aid Office administers a Scholarship Office that works closely with our Foundation. Our Foundation staff raises money to assists students with books, emergency loan funds and scholarships. You may want to become a scholarship partner at El Camino College and donate money to assist students with books and scholarships.

Veterans Financial Aid:

The Admissions & Records Office administers the Veteran's Financial Aid Program at El Camino College. All inquiries should be directed to the Veterans Unit within the Admission & Records Office at (310) 660-3486 for more information.

Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS):

The DHHS clients that are also financial aid recipients at El Camino College are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as possible for agency verification of benefits. The Financial Aid Office must have the proper information, on file, before processing any request for information. Please be sure to review our policies and procedures in our Financial Aid Handbook (PDF). Our office operates on a first-come, first served basis and we do have established program deadlines.

Department of Rehabilitation

Rehab clients that are also financial aid recipients at El Camino College are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as possible for agency verification of benefits. The Financial Aid Office must have the proper information, on file, before processing any request for information.
