ACADEMIC COMPETITIVENESS GRANTS (ACG)

 

General Program Requirements:  ACG Flyer                            Smart Grants : 4 year degree program.

  1. Enrolled full-time in a degree program (AA/AS/Certificate/Transfer) 
  2. U.S. Citizen.                                                                                
  3. Pell Grant Recipient.
  4. High school completes the Rigorous Course Validation Form.


 First Year Awards

Second Year Awards 

  •  $750 per year ($375) per semester
  •  $1,300 per year ($650) per semester
  •  Completed a "rigorous secondary school program of study" after January 1, 2006.
  •  Completed a "rigorous secondary school program of study" after January 1, 2005.
  •  Not previously enrolled in an undergraduate program
  •  Grade point average must be no less than 3.0
  •  ACG must be coordinated with all other aid and not exceed student federal need.

  •  Federal Need = Cost of Attendance - EFC (Expected Family Contribution)

Student must complete rigorous high schoool program to be eligible for an ACG.

  1. A required set of courses similar to the State Scholars Initiative. 
  2. Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses and test scores.
