2008 Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP)

The current crisis in the loan industry has not affected all lenders that do business with El Camino College. Although some lenders and guarantee agencies have decided to leave the student loan business, El Camino College will continue to participate in the Stafford Loan Program. We will continue to offer Stafford Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) and have several lenders to recommend to students based on a positive working relationships at El Camino College. Additionally, students may choose any other lender that participates in FFELP. Currently, only two lenders Citibank and E.F.S.I. have pulled out of the Federal Family Education Loan Programs (FFELP) and will not be offering student loans.
