ECC LogoECC Distance Education Online Student Readiness Survey

Do you have what it takes to succeed in an online class? Take the following assessment and find out!

Part I: The Basics

The survey below will help you determine if you have the basic skills to be successful in an online course. Please answer the statements below.

1.  Do you have consistent/easy access (12-15 hours a week per online class) to a reliable computer with current software (see Online Student Handbook for specifications)?
2. Do you have access to a computer with high speed Internet access (home, school, work, etc.)?
3. Do you have enough time to devote for an online class (for a three unit class, you will need 12-15 hours a week per online course during a 16-week semester)?

If you answered NO to any of these questions, we recommend you do not take an online course at this time. Without these basics, you are unlikely to experience success in an online course.  Visit the ECC Distance Education Website for online student support resources and services.

If you answered YES to all of these questions, you have the time and the technological tools to take an online course. But what are your chances of success in an online course? Click the next button below to take Part II of the survey to find out.
