ECC Center for the Arts to Present Concert Featuring Vocal Group m-pact

The award-winning Los Angeles vocal ensemble m-pact will make its El Camino College debut at 8 p.m. April 19 in Marsee Auditorium as part of the El Camino College Center for the Arts’ 50th anniversary season.

Respected worldwide as a cutting-edge trailblazer in the realm of a cappella music, m-pact will present selections from its new EP "Wonderful World," as well as a diverse program of pop hits, jazz standards, and Motown classics. The group just returned from a headlining performance at the Jazz Education Network (JEN) International Conference and a whirlwind European tour.

Hailed as “one of the best pop-jazz vocal groups in the world” by the San Francisco Chronicle, audiences worldwide have enjoyed m-pact’s unmatched artistry, dazzling vocal range, and powerful vocal rhythm section. With its sophisticated sound and accessible appeal, m-pact has garnered accolades, including Vocal Group of the Year (the LA Music Awards), an Indie nomination (the Independent Grammy), Artist of the Year (Seattle Music Awards), and Grand National Champs of the Harmony Sweepstakes competition. The group has performed with pop superstars Sheryl Crow, Boyz II Men, Natasha Bedingfield, and Ray Charles, as well as with jazz legends Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin, the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Maynard Ferguson Big Band, and many others.  

Tickets for m-pact’s performance are $10-24 and may be purchased at using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. El Camino College is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
